For nearly 50 years, the Utah Parks Company brought tourists to Utah and Arizona’s national parks. Historian Ryan Paul highlights this unique chapter in local park history.
Paul is an assistant professor of history at Southern Utah University, specializing in public and local history and national parks. He spent 19 years as curator at Frontier Homestead State Park Museum and recently published Singaway, a book on the Utah Parks Company. Paul has written five documentary films, lectured as a Utah Humanities Council Road Scholar, and served as president of the Utah Museums Association. He also writes and hosts the web series Main Street Minutes. He holds a master’s in arts administration from SUU and is a devoted fan of Elvis, Doctor Who, and DC Comics.
