Come join us in a celebration of Brooke Elayne's work at a reception in her honor Friday, July 12, from 6-6:45
Please join us at a reception for Brooke Elayne Hargis and this exhibit, Friday, July 12, from 6-6:45 pm along with musical accompaniment by 2 Old Guys, a musical duo from Salt Lake City.
Brooke Elayne is a Utah-based artist with a background in oil painting, drawing, and digital art. She is inspired by nature and patterns and uses those elements to tell stories viewers can connect to. We are all searching for somewhere to belong and her art is an invitation to reflect on where we have been, where we are going, and where we are now.
This series focuses on a traveler in search of a home. Sometimes represented as an animal or a person in varying sizes, they head out into the world looking for a place to belong. Our traveler is influenced by friends and mentors, often in the shape of birds. The quatrefoil shape is repeated in some way through each piece, indicating a spiritual journey as well as a physical one.
This exhibit will be on display at the Millcreek Branch throughout July.
Light refreshments will be provided.
