The two organizations originated in Carson, California in the 80s. They are now based in Taylorsville, Utah. Lavona’s Polynesia is family affair. The dancers are family. This organization has been touring the U.S. and Canada since the 1970’s. LaVona’s Polynesia and Island TIme II are led by Frank and Sola Fau’olo who are of Samoan and Tongan descent. Frank started his career at the International Market Place, in Honolulu, and at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. Performing in towns throughout Utah, Island Time II has also taken the Aloha spirit to Iowa, Nevada, Ohio, California, Florida and Illinois. They are proud to share the spirit of Aloha with the Viridian Center May 3rd.
