Dr. Lothringer will provide an update on what NASA’s newest and biggest space telescope, JWST, has been observing in its first two years of operation.
Dr. Josh Lothringer is an assistant astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, MD. He was previously an assistant professor of physics at Utah Valley University from 2021 to 2023. He received his BA in Astronomy from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2014 and PhD in Planetary Science at the University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory in 2019. He is the principal investigator of four Hubble Space Telescope programs and two James Webb Space Telescope programs to study the atmospheres of planets, brown dwarfs, and stars.
