Professor Claus E. Andersen will introduce the concept of HYGGE, explain how it relates to the Scandinavian way of life and give concrete suggestions for how to incorporate hygge into your life.

Claus Elholm Andersen is the Paul and Renate Madsen Professor of Scandinavian Studies at the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A native Dane, he teaches and conducts research on different aspects of Scandinavian literature and cultures. His new book, Karl Ove Knausgård and the Autofictional Novel will be published by SUNY Press in December 2023.
