B.Y.O.F. (Bring your own fabric) and make a unique, upcycled plushie for Earth Day! We'll provide needles, thread, and stuffing, you provide the fabric.
In America, an estimated 11.3 million tons of textile waste ends up in landfills every year. That's about 81.5 pounds per person!
Instead of tossing old fabric items, reuse them to make unique plushies! Bring your old shirts, pants, towels, curtains, anything you don't want anymore. We'll have needles, thread, stuffing and patterns for a variety of different plushies from beginner to advanced.
Supplies will be available from 3-5 pm in the Whitmore Library Learning Lab (you don't have to stay the entire time).
A limited number of take-home packets will also be available if you're not able to stay for the program. These will include stuffing, thread, and patterns for an easy frog and avocado-cat. You will need to provide your own fabric, needle, and any extras.
