Shakespeare's First Folio was published in 1623. Dr. Mark Matheson will highlight this achievement and the unique impact of the works of William Shakespeare on the world.
Mark Matheson received his M.A. from the University of Utah and his Doctorate from the University of Oxford. He has worked in the English Department and the Honors College at the University of Utah for over twenty years. He has taught Shakespeare's plays extensively and published scholarly articles in Shakespeare Quarterly and Shakespeare Survey. Professor Matheson travels to London with his students where he teaches seminars on British Literature. He also serves as the Director of the University of Utah-based Tanner Lectures on Human Values. He greatly enjoys advocating for students’ educational interests through The MUSE Project.
