Spring’s Adult Night Out event is a 24-hour, county-wide scavenger hunt, culminating in a finale celebration at the Library's Viridian Event Center.

What is the objective of the hunt?
Acquire as many points as possible by completing missions in Salt Lake County, while getting to know your community better.
Who is running the hunt?
The hunt is being hosted by Salt Lake County Library and the team at the Library’s Viridian Event Center.
Who can participate?
This is a part of the Adult Night Out series, and therefore, is designed for those age 18+. You can participate solo or as a pair.
What types of missions can I expect?
There will be three types of missions: photo, GPS, and text-answer missions. Missions will be related to the library, each city, local businesses, date night activities, and county agencies.
What is GooseChase?
GooseChase is the app that you will use to participate in the scavenger hunt.
Where is the hunt?
The hunt will have missions located throughout Salt Lake County so you can participate wherever you are.
When is the hunt?
The hunt will begin at 4 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 and last for 24 hours.
What is the Finale Celebration?
At the end of the 24-hour hunt, participants are invited to the Finale Celebration at the Library’s Viridian Event Center to compete in-person with other participants for some last-minute points before winners are announced.
Where and when is the Finale Celebration?
The Finale Celebration is from 4-6 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Library’s Viridian Event Center, located at 8030 S 1825 W in West Jordan.
How do I register?
All participants must register through Eventbrite to access to the hunt. https://anoscavengerhunt.eventbrite.com/
Should I select the Standard or the Print registration?
The Print option at registration is reserved only for those who prefer a hard copy of the missions list and do not have a way to participate using the app. If you plan to participate for a chance to win using the app, please select the Standard registration.
How do I cancel my registration?
To cancel, log in to Eventbrite. Alternatively, you can send an email to Viridian@TheCountyLibrary.org and we can cancel for you.

How do I get the app?
The GooseChase app is available on iOS and Android devices. Go to your app store and search for “GooseChase” and download. (It will be orange with goose feet as the icon).
How do I access the Adult Night Out Scavenger Hunt in the app?
Once you are registered for the event and have downloaded the app, you’ll need to search for our hunt by game code. You must have the game code to join, and cannot search by name. The game code will be emailed to you through Eventbrite the day of the hunt. BE SURE EVENTBRITE EMAILS DON’T GO TO YOUR JUNK FOLDER.
When can I access the scavenger hunt in the app?
The scavenger hunt will go live in the app at 4 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 and will close at 4 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022. A final round of points can be earned between 4-6 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the Finale Celebration.

What is the Missions tab?
The Missions tab is where you will find the full list of scavenger hunt missions. This is also where you will complete the missions for points.
What is the Feed tab?
The Feed tab will show a live feed of all the participants completing missions. You’ll be able to see photo submissions from other participants and when they receive points for GPS and text missions.
What is the Rankings tab?
The Rankings tab will show current scores of all participants, as well as your position on the leaderboard.
What is the Notifications tab?
The Notifications tab is where you will see updates and information from the game hosts during the game.
What is the My Activity tab?
The My Activity tab is your account. It will show your username, photo, and a list of your completed missions.
What if I’m having trouble with one of the missions?
If you have a technical problem with one of the missions , you can notify us by emailing viridian@thecountylibrary.org
What’s happening at the Finale Celebration?
At the end of the 24-hour hunt, participants are invited to the Finale Celebration at the Library’s Viridian Event Center to compete in person with other participants for some last-minute points before winners are announced. Come celebrate your accomplishments with fun games and activities, commemorative photo booths, and a live awards ceremony.
When and how will winners be announced?
Once the Finale Games are complete, final scores will be tabulated and the winners will be announced on-site at the Library’s Viridian Event Center.
What are the prizes?
Prizes are TBA.
Do I have to be present at the finale to win?
If a winner is not present at the time of announcement, The County Library will reach out via email to notify the winner(s). If prize is not claimed within 72 hours, it may be offered to the next runner-up.

• Participants can choose to compete solo or as a pair. Participants must select during registration and list the name of their partner if competing as a pair.
• Those competing in pairs must complete challenges together using one device on one GooseChase account. Only one GooseChase account will be considered per pair for points.
• Participants are welcome and encouraged to group up with other participants while completing challenges. However, points will be counted for each solo/pair registered, even if you group up with others that are registered while playing.
• Only those listed on your registration are eligible to win.
• All participants must be 18 or older at the time of the event.
• The scavenger hunt officially begins at 4 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 and ends at 4 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Missions will only be available in app during this time.
• From 4-5 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022, additional points can be earned through games and activities at the Finale Celebration at the Library’s Viridian Event Center in West Jordan. Once the Finale Celebration games and activities conclude, final scores will be calculated.
• The County Library staff will confirm all mission submissions from winners before winners will be announced at the Finale Celebration. If any submissions do not meet requirements, those points will be deducted and winners re-evaluated.
• If any winners are not present at the time of announcement at the Finale Celebration, they will be contacted via email to collect their prize. If prize is not claimed within 72 hours, it may be offered to the next runner-up.
• Those participating in the print version of the scavenger hunt may participate in the Finale Celebration but are not eligible for grand prizes.
• Participants of the scavenger hunt must abide by all city, county, and state laws and regulations during the hunt. Any violators will be disqualified.
• The County Library staff reserves the right to disqualify or remove any participants from the competition for any reason they deem necessary.
• This is a rain-or-shine event.
