A variety of STEM day camps presented by Salt Lake County’s Utah State University Extension Services 4H. A great way for curious minds to spend the day. Registration at the branch may be required.
Bats can see in the dark by listening for the echoes of the sounds they make off of their surroundings. In the second part of this workshop, kids will be learning about different kinds of waves including light and sound. Then the students will be doing several hands-on experiments including making a circuit that lets one see like a bat would, using sound. This is a fun experiment to watch as the kids try to navigate while blindfolded using only the device they have built, programmed and their ears to “See.”
