This class is for beginner coders, ages 6-9. Must know how to: power up, connect to WiFi, open a web address, maneuver a mouse. MUST know their letters and be able to write! NOT a drop-in event!
This is a monthly class that builds on skills. Students should sign up for each class in this series.
Using a software program that allows them to learn at their own pace, children create computer programs that will help them learn to collaborate with others, develop problem-solving skills, and persist through difficult tasks. They will study programming concepts, computational thinking, digital citizenship, and develop interactive games or stories they can share.
It is important that children attending these sessions be able to listen and follow directions. They should also be able to turn on the computer, connect to WiFi, open a web address, and maneuver a mouse/touch pad on their own. They MUST know their letters and be able to write.
