Free community concert, featuring Utah's best artists, presented the second Saturday of each month by the Library's Viridian Event Center and Excellence in the Community.
Lark & Spur brings its Christmas program to the Viridian Event Center. Traditional and modern carols performed with acoustic guitars, mandolin, piano, up right bass, woodwinds, percussion, and three singers.
Lark & Spur, as the name suggests, began as duo, when Lori Decker and Jeff Whiteley performed in the streets, metro tunnels and public squares of Paris, Munich and Annecy. Over time the ensemble added other players and performs most often as sextet, with Lori Decker on vocals and mandolin, Jeff Whiteley on acoustic guitar and vocals, Alicia Wrigley on up right bass and vocals, Rich Dixon on guitar, Ray Smith on woodwinds, Jay Lawrence on percussion and Steve Keen on piano.
Performance credits include the Montreux, Brienz and Deauville jazz festivals in Europe, radio and television appearances in France and Switzerland, innumerable private events in Utah, performances for the Utah Symphony, and performances at Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden, and the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo.
The Lark & Spur Christmas concert is a tradition for many families. More information at larkandspur.com.
