Step back to a more gentile time, while still enjoying indoor plumbing and A/C with the Only Glory Vintage Dancers
Have you ever felt out of time, no I mean like as if you should have been born a century or two before you were? Well now you can step back to a more gentile time and still enjoy indoor plumbing and a/c with the help of Old Glory Vintage Dancers by attending their Vintage Dance Classes and Galas now being offered at the Viridian Event Center.
When? Classes are held the 1st Tuesday of each month, 8:00-9:30pm.
Where? Viridian Event Center, 8030 S 1825 W, West Jordan.
Wealth? Free attendance offered by Viridian Event Center for a limited time.
Wear? No special clothes are needed for the classes. Just wear your modern casual clothes and some comfortable flat shoes. We only dress up for our balls and galas or when we are hired out.
What? You need not have any previous dance experience. If you can walk, count and turn about, you can vintage dance. Vintage dances are group dances, so you aren’t left alone on the dance floor. Kimberli teaches each dance before the music is played and prompts your steps while you are dancing to the music.
Who? Anyone 14 and older, unless previous permission has been granted for younger people. You don’t need to bring a partner, although it is more enjoyable if you do.
Why? Why not?? These dances will get your blood pumping, forehead glistening, heart full of joy and your belly laughing with glee! In a world that has forgotten their manners it’s wonderful to have some old fashioned fun acting like ladies and gentlemen.
*About the Instructors:
Kimberli and her husband, Tom, have been dancing since childhood and have been involved with vintage dancing in Georgia since 1995. They danced with the Stately Oaks Vintage Dancers and the Atlanta Baroque Dancers for many years performing 18th and 19th century dances throughout the Atlanta area. When they relocated to Utah in 2006 and couldn't find a vintage dance group they felt they needed to share the charm and appeal of the antique dancing with Utah and so created Old Glory Vintage Dancers in 2007. They have been very well received at many functions along the Wasatch front teaching and performing the 1700's,1800's & early 1900's dances at private and public functions dressed in their historical attire. They also offer monthly Vintage Dance Classes and host a number of their own galas throughout the year.
